Thousands of additional workers will be needed to build out infrastructure associated with tens of billions of dollars in funding from eight recent government broadband infrastructure deployment programs, the Federal government’s chief watchdog agency said.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is looking for comments on how to best combat the digital inequalities that some in the U.S. face when getting access to broadband, according to a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking released by the agency on Dec. 21.

New York’s Columbia University Libraries announced that it has joined The Palace Project platform and app, in a bid to streamline the management and delivery of ebooks, audiobooks, and other e-content. The Palace Project is a nonprofit library-centered platform and e-reader app for digital content and services.
