The National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) announced the appointment of new NASS committee co-chairs Aug. 6.

NASS President and Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate and the previous NASS President and current Vermont Secretary of State Jim Condos will chair the Cybersecurity Committee. Pate and Condos will also be on the U.S. Election Assistance Commission Board of Advisors. In other election-related appointments, West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warne and Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar will lead the Elections Committee heading into the 2020 Presidential Election.

“I am proud to appoint my bipartisan colleagues to these important posts,” said NASS President and Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate. “They will be on the forefront of vital issues facing Secretaries of State across the country and I look forward to working closely with them.”
