The city of Madison, Wis., is launching a new online resource hub that will connect residents and city staff with resources including workforce skills training, digital devices, Wi-Fi service, and digital literacy training.

Wisconsin has awarded more than $27.8 million from the Digital Connectivity and Navigators Program to fund 11 projects throughout Wisconsin that will improve internet connectivity by providing access to devices, technology, and digital navigators.

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, together with Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) Secretary and CEO Missy Hughes, announced that 18 school districts across the state will receive over $493,000 in “fab lab” grants to train students in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) skills.

With that in mind, Wisconsin announced a new web tool that helps users find free-to-use public broadband locations nearby. The tool, announced April 14, is intended for users whose own internet is either too slow or not available.
