New York has awarded $55 million to 57 counties and New York City to bolster the state’s emergency response and communications systems.
New York has allocated $20 million in grant funding for the Statewide Interoperable Communications Grant (SICG) program, which will help improve emergency communications across the state.
Two counties in Virginia – Bath and Highland – will use a $2 million grant from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to improve coordination of emergency medical care, strengthen preparedness and resilience, and improve emergency communications interoperability.
