As the school year gets underway, Code.org, ETS, the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), and Khan Academy are offering “AI 101 for Teachers,” a free professional learning course designed to “level the playing field” of artificial intelligence (AI) understanding among K-12 teachers.

Led by Code.org, a group of education and technology leaders have launched TeachAI, a new initiative focused on integrating AI education into primary and secondary curricula through new reports, policy recommendations, and public engagement opportunities.

A slim majority of U.S. high schools – 51 percent – now offer foundational computer science, a significant jump from just 35 percent in 2018, according to a new report from Code.org.
