Maryland is now the first state in the nation to offer digital licenses and IDs on two major mobile operating systems. The state already offered digital licenses and IDs in Apple Wallet, and announced that it will now offer digital licenses and IDs in Google Wallet.

Late last month, the Department of Education and NASA signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) intended to strengthen the collaboration between the two agencies. The agencies pledged to work more closely on their joint efforts to increase access to high-quality science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and space education to students and schools across the nation.

The latest assessment of California’s primary tech agency by the state auditor has identified severe weaknesses in Strategic Planning, Information Security, and Project Oversight that limit the state’s management of its multi-billion dollar IT portfolio.

A new initiative from Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee is looking to increase awareness of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program that aims to help lower-income families pay for high-speed internet.
